Planning a Japan itinerary can be exciting. However, if you’re arriving at Haneda Airport with luggage, you may wonder whether taking an Airport Bus to your hotel would be easier than taking the train.
As someone who has lived in Tokyo for over 20 years and traveled abroad from Japan more than ten times, I’ve learned how helpful it can be to choose a convenient way to get to your hotel after a long flight. In this guide, I’ll introduce areas and hotels that are easy to reach by airport bus from Haneda Airport, with my own photos along the way.
What to Expect in This Article:
- Recommended areas and hotels with easy airport bus access from Haneda Airport
- Practical information on airport bus routes, fares, travel times, and how to use the buses
- Tips for getting around from Toyosu, Odaiba, and Tokyo Disney Resort after arriving at your hotel
Where Should You Stay on Your First Night in Japan?
If you have some time after arriving at Haneda Airport, consider traveling a little farther into central Tokyo. I recommend choosing an area that is about 35 minutes from Haneda Airport by airport bus and has hotels with comfortable and easy-to-use bathrooms.
Once you’ve dropped off your luggage, you can head out and explore the city without having to carry it around. Alternatively, you can take advantage of early check-in and get some much-needed rest.
Airport buses make several stops along the way, so each additional stop can add to your travel time. I recommend choosing a hotel that is the first or second stop on the route.

Early check-in
Early check-in may also be available for an additional fee, depending on room availability. I sometimes use this service when I travel, as it allows me to avoid the crowds at the regular check-in time and get some time to rest in my room. It can be especially helpful on your first day in Japan, especially if you arrive before the regular check-in time.
Please contact the hotel in advance to confirm availability.
Airport Bus
Airport buses are less complicated than the subway, and you don’t have to worry about where to store large suitcases during the journey. Many hotels served by airport buses are upscale hotels, but you can stay seated all the way to your destination, which makes the journey more comfortable and stress-free.
Please note:
Airport bus routes, stops, fares, and participating hotels may vary depending on the service. Please check the latest timetable on the official website before your trip.
How to Take an Airport Bus from Haneda Airport
Airport buses can be booked online through their respective websites.
For same-day purchases, tickets are available from ticket machines on the arrivals lobby level. If you’re not familiar with the process, I recommend purchasing your ticket at the staffed bus counter instead.
The bus stops at Haneda Airport Terminal 3 are located on the 1st floor. After purchasing your ticket, follow the signs for buses from the 2nd-floor Arrival Lobby and go down to the 1st floor. The bus stop number and the lane you need to line up in vary depending on your destination, so be sure to check them before boarding.
Recommended Stations via the Airport Bus
If you’re taking an airport bus to central Tokyo, I recommend the Toyosu and Daiba areas. For those heading to Tokyo Disney Resort, I’ll introduce the Tokyo Disneyland bus stop as one option to consider. All three routes run approximately once an hour.
Please note that travel times may vary depending on traffic conditions.

Good to Know: Airport Buses to Tokyo Disney Resort
In addition to the Airport Limousine Bus, three other companies operate airport buses to Tokyo Disney Resort. All four services can be booked through the Airport Limousine Bus website. However, please note that the bus may not necessarily be orange.
Toyosu Station
There are direct buses to Toyosu Station that take about 35 minutes, with departures available until around 6:00 p.m. After that, the journey takes about 45 minutes because the bus stops at Ariake Garden along the way. This option is recommended if you are departing from the airport before 6:00 p.m. Please check the timetable for the latest details.
From Toyosu Station, you can take the Yurikamome Line directly to Toyosu Market, Odaiba, and teamLab Planets without changing trains. On the Yurakucho Line, you can reach Ginza and Yurakucho in about 10 minutes without changing trains.
To Travel from Toyosu to Asakusa
On some days, water buses also operate from Toyosu to Asakusa, taking about 30 minutes. However, services are limited, so please check the official website for the latest schedule. If the water bus is not available, take the Yurikamome Line to Shimbashi Station, then transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line.

What Is Toyosu Like?
Nearby, you’ll find LaLaport Toyosu shopping mall, which is also home to KidZania Tokyo. The area also has convenience stores, waterfront views, and Blue Bottle Coffee. With its high-rise buildings and open spaces, Toyosu has a modern and spacious atmosphere.
Hotels near Toyosu Station
The two hotels I’m introducing near Toyosu Station are Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu PREMIER and hotel MONday Premium TOYOSU. hotel MONday Premium TOYOSU is not directly connected to an airport bus stop, but I’m including it as a more budget-friendly option.
| Hotel | Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu PREMIER | hotel MONday Premium TOYOSU |
| Access | Directly connected to Toyosu Station | About 8 min walk from Toyosu Station *A shuttle bus is available from Toyosu Station in the evening. Please check the hotel’s official website. |

The upper-floor rooms offer excellent city views. | It is not very close to Toyosu Station, but it is more affordable. It has a large public bath. Even the standard rooms have separate shower rooms. |
Mitsui Garden Hotel Toyosu PREMIER
Mitsui Garden Hotels are a Japanese hotel brand known for their comfortable rooms, convenient locations, and relaxing atmosphere.
The lobby and restaurant are located on the upper floors, offering wonderful views. Rooms other than those with view baths do not have separate bathrooms and toilets, but the hotel has a large public bath.
The hotel’s website shows where each room category is located within the building, so you may be able to get a rough idea of the view before booking.
hotel MONday Premium TOYOSU
I have stayed at this hotel. It is about an 8-minute walk from Toyosu Station, but the route is very straightforward. By local bus or taxi, it takes about 3 minutes. There also appears to be a shuttle bus from Toyosu Station in the evening, so please check the hotel’s official website for the latest information.
I stayed in a twin room with a sofa bed and was lucky enough to have a view of Tokyo Tower. However, the view may vary depending on your room, so you’ll have to wait and see what you get. You may also want to request a particular view when making your reservation.
Although the rooms are compact, thoughtful wall storage makes them feel more spacious. The brand aims to provide comfortable stays for international visitors to Japan. Rooms have either a separate shower room or a separate bathroom, and the hotel also has a large public bath with a mural of Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms.
There is a 7-Eleven next door, and across the street is AEON, a popular shopping mall chain in Japan.
Daiba Station
The airport bus does not stop at Daiba Station itself, but it does stop at hotels directly connected to the station. The last bus departs around 5:00 p.m. Please check the official website for the latest schedule. Both hotels are directly connected to Daiba Station.
From Daiba Station, you can take the Yurikamome Line directly to Toyosu Market and teamLab Planets without changing trains.
To Travel from Daiba to Asakusa
On some days, you can also reach Asakusa by water bus. There are many more services from here than from Toyosu. If the water bus is not available, take the Toei Asakusa Line from Shimbashi Station.
Water buses between Asakusa and Odaiba can also be booked through GetYourGuide.

What Is Odaiba Like?
Odaiba is a popular destination among Japanese visitors, with shopping malls and beaches overlooking Tokyo Bay, as well as views of Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Tower, and Tokyo’s high-rise buildings. It is also home to attractions such as LEGOLAND Discovery Center Tokyo and Tokyo Joypolis, making it a fun destination for families and visitors of all ages.
Hotels near Daiba Station
Two hotels worth considering are Hilton Tokyo Odaiba and Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba. They are the first and second hotel stops after leaving Haneda Airport, respectively.
| Item | Hilton Tokyo Odaiba | Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba |
| Access | About 35 min from Haneda Airport Terminal 3 | About 40 min from Haneda Airport Terminal 3 |
| Early check-in | No information available *Please contact the hotel in advance to confirm. |
Available depending on room availability *Regular floors: From 11:00 a.m., ¥4,000 (approx. $12.7 / €11.0) per hour. Please check the hotel’s official website. |
| Features | Even the standard rooms have balconies. The hotel has an indoor pool with views of Rainbow Bridge, available for a fee. | Deluxe rooms and above have a separate shower room in addition to the bathtub. In summer, the outdoor pool overlooking Rainbow Bridge is available for a fee. |
Hilton Tokyo Odaiba
I stayed at this hotel several times before it became Hilton Tokyo Odaiba. The room shown in this photo would now be considered an Executive Twin at Hilton Tokyo Odaiba.

You can enjoy breakfast at the hotel, or head to one of the nearby cafés. The area is also perfect for a morning stroll. Although the bathroom is not separate from the toilet in the Japanese style, the bathroom itself is spacious and elegantly designed.
Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba
I also stayed at this hotel several times before it became Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba. The view shown in this photo is from a room that would now be considered a Superior Twin (No View Specified) at Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba.

The Ferris wheel in the photo is no longer there due to redevelopment. At the time, breakfast was served at a restaurant on the 30th floor, offering a great view of Rainbow Bridge.

If I had stayed in a room facing Rainbow Bridge, the view may have looked something like this. Of course, you can also enjoy breakfast with a view of Rainbow Bridge at nearby cafés, but this restaurant felt almost like an observation deck.
Tokyo Disneyland Bus Stop
You can also travel directly from Haneda Airport Terminal 3 to Tokyo Disney Resort.
If you’re traveling from Haneda Airport to Tokyo Disney Resort by airport bus, the easiest option is to use the bus stop at your hotel. However, in this article, I’ll introduce hotels near the first stop, Tokyo Disneyland bus stop (Bus Terminal East). The nearest JR station to the Tokyo Disneyland bus stop is Maihama Station.
After arriving at the Tokyo Disneyland bus stop, walk toward Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. You’ll see a wide ramp on your right that leads to the Maihama Station. Walk up the ramp and continue for about five minutes to reach the station. On the way to the station, you’ll pass Bon Voyage, a large official Disney store.

Please note: This photo shows the ramp from Maihama Station toward Tokyo Disneyland. Turn left at the bottom of the ramp to reach Bus Terminal East.
Maihama Station
Maihama Station is served by the JR Keiyo Line as well as the Disney Resort Line. From Maihama, you can take the Keiyo Line directly to Tokyo Station without changing trains.
However, the Keiyo Line platforms at Tokyo Station are quite far from the other platforms, and it takes about 10–15 minutes to walk to the central part of the station. If you’re considering transferring at Tokyo Station, allow plenty of time for the transfer.
Alternatively, you can take the JR Keiyo Line to Shinkiba Station and transfer to the Yurakucho Line. It takes about 10 minutes to reach Yurakucho Station, where you can transfer to the JR Yamanote Line. You can also take the Rinkai Line to Tokyo Teleport Station, which is close to Daiba.

If you walk toward the red building (Bon Voyage) in the distance, you’ll reach the ramp shown earlier.
To Travel from Maihama to Asakusa
There is no direct route from Maihama to Asakusa. You may find several options when you search for directions, but one option is to get off the JR Keiyo Line at Hatchobori Station and walk above ground to Takaracho Station, where you can take the Toei Asakusa Line. You can also use the elevator.
Please note that Takaracho Station on the Toei Asakusa Line has different ticket gates depending on your destination. I’ve included a link to the station map in the Information section, so please check it in advance.

What Is Maihama Like?
Maihama Station has a distinctly Disney atmosphere, as it is the main gateway to Tokyo Disney Resort. Just outside the station, you’ll find Bon Voyage, a large Disney merchandise shop, as well as Ikspiari, a shopping and dining complex with around 140 shops and restaurants. Riding the Disney Resort Line is also a fun experience.

Two hotels worth considering are Hotel Dream Gate Maihama and Hotel Dream Gate Maihama ANNEX.

Hotel Dream Gate Maihama & Annex
Hotel Dream Gate Maihama and Hotel Dream Gate Maihama Annex are both located directly next to Maihama Station, making them convenient choices for visiting Tokyo Disney Resort. Both hotels have separate bathrooms and toilets. There are also convenience stores, cafés, and a Disney Resort Line station nearby, making it easy to get to Tokyo DisneySea. Tokyo Disneyland is within walking distance.

Neither offers any particular views from the room, but you can enjoy the atmosphere of Tokyo Disney Resort just by stepping outside, both day and night.
Conclusion
After a long flight, getting to your hotel easily can make a big difference to how you enjoy your first day in Japan. Taking an airport bus allows you to stay seated with your luggage.
If you’re planning to take an airport bus from Haneda Airport, Toyosu, Daiba, and Tokyo Disneyland are all worth considering. Each area offers convenient hotel options, and the best choice depends on where you plan to go during your stay.
I hope this guide helps you choose a hotel with easy airport bus access and enjoy a comfortable, stress-free start to your trip to Japan.
